Raita is a classic Indian sauce used with spicy food. You can also use it as a dressing on grilled food or salad. The sauce is made from different vegetables (cucumber, carrot, garlic, coriander, onion ) and yogurt. It can taste differently from one country to another like Pakistan or Bangladesh. Ingredients
- 1/2 Red onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 5 dl (500g) natural yogurt
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 Small spoon coriander powder
- 1/2 Small spoon cumin
- 1 Big cucumber
- 4 Tablespoons mint
- Salt (after taste)
How to prepare the Raita
Chop the onion and garlic into small pieces and mix it with the coriander powder, cumin, lemon juice and yogurt.
Slice the cucumber into small pieces as well and mix it with fresh mint, salt and pepper (Better to remove the entrails from the cucumber).
Leave the sauce in the fridge for few hours before use.
