Many times a year there are fairs in a large warehouse located in the area Kram in the capital city. It’s also a fair for arts, handcrafts, housing and furnitures. Large companies and small sole proprietorships from everywhere in Tunisia are gathering to showcase their products. This time was agricultural fair.
Tunisia uses much less chemicals in its agriculture and therefore has many exciting organic products.
The main products are olives, dates, essential oils, creams and soaps based on natural products, handcraft from olive trees, products made from hemp, different cheeses, sweets and many other things. see ( olive oil production stages )
The visit to the agricultural fair in kram
It’s very exciting to go to these fairs. You meet alot of nice people who are eager to show you their products. On this fair we got to taste organic candy, honey and different products made from dates.
We tried creams based on herbs, smelled of various oils for massage against different pains in the body and soaps with delicious scents made from herbs and flowers.
There was a separate department for the animals and there was an exhibition where some of them were rewarded. We saw horses and cows which were carefully examined and judged.
Inside the animals stables it was clean and the animals were very well taken care of.
And of course there was a large department for agricultural equipment and vehicles, and for plants, fruits and vegetables that are produced here in Tunisia.
If you are living in Tunisia or if you are lucky to be here on holiday during the time the fairs are held I will recommend you to visit them.
