Wild strawberries have been known since Roman times, but its cultivation didn’t begin until the 19th century. Crosses between European and American strawberry plants led to the strawberry plant that we know today.
It was then developed into thousands of varieties, adapted to different climates and taste characteristics. In the 20th century, strawberries have become more famous and popular.
Strawberries contain vitamin C, folate and dietary fiber. It also contains iron and calcium and known for its low calories.
Strawberries are not actually berries but a “fake fruit” .
Strawberry fruit is used in making jams and juices but it’s mostly known as a dessert fruit served with either cream, milk , custard or ice cream .
Dried leaf tea of the strawberry has been used in folk medicine for anemia, nervousness, gout and urinary tract problems. Strawberries can be also used to prepare strawberry milk, smoothies and pancakes .
Since I don’t have preservatives, I’ve only used sugar in my strawberry jam.

How to prepare strawberry Jam without preservatives
Put the strawberry in a pot on low heat until the boiling point. Let it cook for only a minute because afterwards it will taste bitter.
Let it cool and pour it in clean and dry jars.
Keep it in the fridge.
If you think there is too much liquid, you can strain it a little and mix it with milk or yoghurt.
I like large pieces in my jam but if you want smaller ones just cut the berries into smaller pieces or even run the jam in the mixer.
